Athlétisme Ville-Marie is a civil running club established in 2017. Open to new members from all parts of Montreal and partnered with Université du Québec à Montréal and Concordia University. The goal of the club is to support athletes of all ages and abilities to achieve their potential in the sport of track and field.
Monday/Thursday 5:45pm and Saturday 9am with John – Lachine Canal
Tuesday 12:15pm and Friday at 12:15 Olivier – Westmount Track

We support the para-athletics community. We do not currently hold a para-athletics training group, but we will assit athletes in finding the right place for them.

Meet the Coaches
John Lofranco ChPC: NCCP Performance Coach Certified/Advanced Coaching Diploma Graduate (5982945)
A chartered professional coach through the Coaching Association of Canada, John is certified by Athletics Canada at the Performance Coach level, and has served as a Learning Facilitator for the Performance Coach course, as well as a Coach Evaluator for distance coaches at the Performance and Club coach levels. He also has USATF Level 3 and IAAF Level 5 Elite Coach certification in Endurance, and has lead Canadian national teams at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships (Cardiff 2016) and the Pan-Am XC Cup (Boca Raton 2017).
Nicolas Marion: NCCP Performance Coach Trained/Club Coach Endurance Certified (6026754)
Nicolas is the head coach of the cross-country/track & field team at the Cegep Vieux-Montréal and the track & field team of the high school Collège Notre-Dame. He is Athletics Canada Club Coach Certified and specialises in distance running. He was working has a police officer before going back to university in Kinesiology for is passion of sport. His goal is to created a team of engage and passionate runners that want to excel in their sport.
François Jarry: NCCP Club Coach Endurance Trained (5982945)
François started running after high school in 2011. He has been part of the CÉGEP André-Laurendeau cross-country team from 2011 to 2013, the McGill cross-country and track & field teams from 2013 to 2018 and is part of Athlétisme Ville-Marie since its foundation in 2017. François has consistently raced on the roads since he started running and was named the FQA Road Runner of the Year in 2017 and in 2018. He started coaching in 2018 and is currently a coach for AVM. He also is the Kells Academy high school cross-country and track & field teams head coach.
Olivier Roy-Baillargeon: NCCP Club Coach Endurance Trained (6389127)
Olivier started running between his home and university at the end of his PhD in 2014. After a brief incursion into the world of ultra-trail running, he discovered a certain talent for marathon running in 2016. He now specialises in 50 km and has represented Canada on this distance at the World Championships of the International Association of Ultrarunners, in Romania, in September 2019. He coaches running groups and gives technical workshops, both on the road and on trails, since 2018, in addition to offering custom training programs and monitoring for beginner and intermediate athletes through United for sport.
Jenn Dowling-Medley: NCCP Club Coach (6082290)
Jenn Dowling-Medley has competed at a high level in middle and long distance running events (track, road, XC) since high school, and competed for the University of Guelph during her undergraduate degree, where she was named an OUA 2nd Team All-Star in XC. Jenn began coaching junior aged athletes in athletics in Vancouver with the Thunderbirds T&F Club, and has previous experience as a swim coach and an instructor for Red Cross and Lifesaving Society swimming courses. Outside of sports, Jenn holds a master’s degree in biomedical engineering, and works as a researcher, specializing in clinical and sports biomechanics.
Philippe St-Hilaire : NCCP Club Coach (5602822)
Philippe St-Hilaire has competed at the national and international levels. He distinguished himself by finishing on the podium for many competitions such as the Canada Games, the American Indoor High School Championships, the Canadian Junior Championships, and many more. His high jump personal best stands at 2.13m. His track and field expertise is highly appreciated from our Sprint group athletes. Outside of track, Philippe studied Business management at Ahuntsic College.
