Athlétisme Ville-Marie is a civil running club established in 2017. Open to new members from all parts of Montreal and partnered with Université du Québec à Montréal. The goal of the club is to support athletes of all ages and abilities to achieve their potential in the sport of track and field.
Monday & Wednesday at 7am with Jim

Meet the Coaches
A chartered professional coach through the Coaching Association of Canada, John is certified by Athletics Canada at the Performance Coach level, and has served as a Learning Facilitator for the Performance Coach course, as well as a Coach Evaluator for distance coaches at the Performance and Club coach levels. He also has USATF Level 3 and IAAF Level 5 Elite Coach certification in Endurance, and has lead Canadian national teams at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships (Cardiff 2016) and the Pan-Am XC Cup (Boca Raton 2017).
The head track & field/cross country coach at Université du Québec à Montréal, Jim is certified by Athletics Canada at the Performance Coach level. He is Level 1 USATF certified and spent 5 years as a university assistant coach in Montreal. Jim served as Equipe Quebec’s senior men & women’s coach at the Canadian Cross Country Championships (2015) and was member of the mission staff at the IAAF World Athletics Championships (2013 & 2015), Pan Am Games (2015) & Olympic Games (2016).
Nicolas is the head coach of the cross-country/track & field team at the Cegep Vieux-Montréal and the track & field team of the high school Collège Notre-Dame. He has is level 2 of Athletics Canada specialised in distance running. He was working has a police officer before going back to university in Kinesiology for is passion of sport. His goal is to created a team of engage and passionate runners that want to excel in their sport.
Anthony Franchini has led the UQAM Run Club since September of 2017. Anthony is an active Masters runner that has continued to gradually improve his own running performances past the age of 40. From recreational runners to competitive age-groupers, Anthony will help you improve your race times by favouring a consistent and gradual approach to increasing training load. If you are looking to improve your 5k race times or attempting to qualify for the Boston Marathon, Anthony can help you get there.
Marilou Ferland-Daigle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and has accumulated an extensive knowledge in the field of running. Between 2011 and 2017, Marilou has competed for the Université Laval Rouge et Or track & field and cross-country varsity team. Marilou has also coached Citius’ running club and has assisted in the Sport-Études running program for the Club d’athlétisme de l’Université de Laval. Now based in Montreal, Marilou aims to support you in achieving your goals.
